Students of TSIOS participated in an open dialogue
On September 26, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an open dialogue with deputies and youth on the theme “Youth’s Right: Practice and Experience”.
The event was organized by the Youth Commission under the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan and the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan in connection with the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. More than 40 students of the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies took part in the event.
Several deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis attended the meeting. The speeches of Akmal Saidov, the chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on democratic institutions, non-governmental organizations and citizens’ self-government bodies and Kozimzhon Tozhiyev, deputy of the Legislative Chamber, chairman of the Oliy Majlis Committee on Youth Affairs aroused interest among the participants.
During the meeting, the youth was informed about the activities of the Legislative Chamber. Participants also discussed the history and importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international experience in protecting the rights of young people, the role and place of the Youth Union in working with young people, as well as problems in this area and ways to address them.
