Representatives of TSIOS participated in the opening ceremony of the international conference “Central Asia connectivity: challenges and new opportunity”
On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an international conference “Central Asia connectivity: challenges and new opportunities” is being held in Tashkent on February 19-20, 2019. The organizers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA). Over 100 leading experts from analytical centers from Afghanistan, Belgium, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, Egypt, India, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Kuwait and other countries participate in the forum. The agenda includes the current state of regional cooperation and the deepening of cooperation in the fields of security, trade, transport, water use, education and science. In his welcoming speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov described the era as a time of great challenges and new encouraging initiatives, putting at the center of the acute demand for rational interaction of the people of Central Asia and their neighbors with partners. The Foreign Minister set a trend to intensify actions on the dialogue platform, stressing the importance of offensive along the whole front of global cooperation.
Also at the opening ceremony of the conference participated representatives of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
