The first international Muhammad al-Khorezmi Olympiad will be held in Uzbekistan
On October 28-30, this year, for the first time, an international Olympiad among students in mathematics named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi will be held in Urgench.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the initiative to organize this Olympiad at the first Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Science and Technology, held in Astana in September 2017.
According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of August 26, 2018, the International Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi in mathematics among university students will be held every two years.
The Olympiad is held to familiarize with the great contribution of the great genius to the development of world science and civilization, to support talented students, to attract young people to the study of basic and exact sciences, and to expand international cooperation.
It is expected that representatives of over 58 universities, including 35 universities from 19 foreign countries of the world, will participate in the international competition. 334 students will compete with each other.
The panel of judges will be organized from experts in the field of mathematics, teachers, professors of the CIS countries, experienced scientists, professors.
The winners of the Olympiad are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as diplomas of participants. Students of Uzbekistan who won in the International Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi are given the right to enter the magistracy outside the quota in areas of mathematics, physics and information technology.
