Ambassador of Republic of Korea visits Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies
On 10 August 2018 TSIOS hosted a visit by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kwon You-U. The diplomat was received by Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Rector Prof. Abdurahim Mannanov.
“During the last few years there has been a great progress in cooperation with our Korean partners. We have also managed to achieve the goals we strived for. We improved the quality of Korean language teaching at TSIOS”, Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Rector Prof. Abdurahim Mannanov said in his opening address.
During his visit, Mr. Kwon Yon-U was accompanied by the director of the Central Library of Seoul National University So I Djong.
The meeting held at the main building of TSIOS. The meeting participants explored the prospects for collaboration. They also exchanged experiences related to current challenges in the field of education and research. It was pointed out that the cultural affinity between Republic of Uzbekistan and Republic of Korea will facilitate fruitful collaboration. Seoul National University donated 1700 of Korean books published in Republic of Korea for the faculty and the students at TSIOS.
