MEETING WITH AN ORIENTALIST PROFESSOR

Today in TSIOS a meeting was held with Aziza Shonazarova, a professor at Columbia University, USA, who was awarded the “Dustlik” Order. Aziza Shonazarova graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of Oriental Philosophy of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education U. Begimkulov, administartion, professors, researchers, undergraduates and students of the institute, media representatives.

At the meeting, mentors, relatives and fellow students of Aziza Shonazarova spoke  about her first steps in science, the days spent at the institute, sincerely congratulated her on her success. Participants noted that the success of our compatriot will contribute to increasing youth interest in science, to engage in research activities, to serve as an example of the fact that tenacity of science can be reached through perseverance.

During the meeting, the rector of the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies Gulchekhra Rikhsieva presented Aziza Shonazarova with a certificate that she was awarded the title “Honorary Professor of TSIOS”.
